The WDA added the Next Generation Award last year to open opportunities to up-and-coming choreographers. This year, Choreographer Kyle Hanagami won the Next Generation Award with his work “Give Me Love” for this year, and he will be showcasing his winning work at the WDA show.

The WDA is a show “by dancers, for dancers”, bringing together and uniting the professional dance community at large.  In addition to the awards presentations and performances, there will be segments to educate and bring awareness to current issues facing the professional dance community by SAG-AFTRA, Dancer’s Alliance, among others.

General admission is $20 ($15 prepaid online), Reserved seats $40 ($30 prepaid online), and VIP seats $50 ($40 prepaid online).  Prepaid tickets can be purchased at www.WorldDanceAwards.com.  Part of the proceeds will benefit Career Transition for Dancers, a not-for-profit organization which has been providing career counseling for dancers free-of-charge nationwide since 1985.

The WDA producers, Allen Walls and Carey Ysais, extend a big thank you to all the sponsors of the show, which include SAG-AFTRA, Tremaine Dance Conventions, DancePlug, Answers4Dancers, Bloc Agency, Clear Talent Group, Go 2 Talent Agency, Noho Arts District, The Movement Talent Agency, Shine On Hollywood Magazine, Uncle Earl & The Ultimate Underground Experience among others.

The WDA intends to reshape all aspects of the show each year, following changes and trends seen in dance and society.

As the awards show grows globally, the WDA hopes to better serve the dance community and become an influential vehicle in moving dance forward.
