Matthew Dickens – Writer, Producer and Director.

He began training at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C as a Theatre major but was always cast in musicals. He took a handful of dance classes, studied a musical instrument and took vocal music classes. His innate ability to multi-task with his talent was apparent. After graduation he joined a theater company as a young actor at Karamu House in Cleveland, Ohio but his passion quickly drew him to New York where he started auditioning for Broadway shows. Learning fast how to hone his skills as a triple threat, he trained heavily in New York with voice lessons, acting classes and several dance classes daily. In a short amount of time he landed a guest dancer spot on Fame with Debbie Allen filmed at MGM Studios in Culver City. Spending time on this historical movie lot, he fell in love with dance, movies and the camera. He spent time with Allen wearing many hats on the Academy Awards, Disney’s Polly, Quantum Leap and A Different World.

He continued auditioning in LA and landed a role in his first Broadway show, the international tour of Dreamgirls which returned to New York as the Broadway Revival company. Musicals kept him busy. He earned a series of back to back bookings in Stephen King’s Carrie, Miss Saigon, Smokey Joe’s Cafe and the original company Sunset Boulevard starring Glenn Close. He was later cast in the Dutch version of Miss Saigon and traveled to Amsterdam. While in Europe he was able to follow his passion to direct creating original productions with the Dutch Air Force Orchestra. His talent was quickly discovered in Holland and he was hired to Direct and Choreograph the opening ceremony of Gay Games Amsterdam, Euro 2000 and segments of The National Wedding Event of Prince Willem & Maxima for national television.

Throughout these years, his passion for movies grew stronger and he eventually moved back to Hollywood where he reunited with Debbie Allen as Associate Director and Choreographer for productions of Sammy, the Musical and A Very Mancini Christmas. He was cast as an Actor/Dancer in Brad Martin’s Sledge starring stunt and fight choreographer David Leitch. This brought him back to the world of camera and dance. From there he began to seek out his passion for movies again. Music Supervisor Randall Poster brought him on board as choreographer on The Aviator directed by Martin Scorcese. He worked as a principal dancer in Their Eyes Were Watching God starring Halle Berry and was hired for seven months as skeleton crew and principal dancer in Rent with choreographer Keith Young and directed by Chris Columbus. The following year he was cast as a principal in Dreamgirls directed by Bill Condon.

War Zone 3D is a passion project for Matthew that pulls on his vast years of professional experience across the board in the entertainment industry. The foundation of his career has fully prepared him for the task of taking on his first feature as writer, producer and director.

CORNELIUS GRANT

Cornelius Grant eventually became commonly referred to as the “Sixth Temptation” (Motown’s Temptations) much like Billy Preston was considered the “Fifth Beatle” (London’s Abbey Road Beatles). Both have been recognized and applauded for their unique and timely musical contributions for two of the best known groups of all time!

He co-wrote the blockbuster, “(I know) I’m losing you” for The Temptations (which has been covered by many [most notably Rod Stewart and Rare Earth]); as well as other favorites like “You’re My Everything” (Temptations), and many more hits for such artists as Gladys Knight & The Pips, Martha Reeves, Rose Royce, Edwin Starr, Marvin Gaye, The Commodores, The Jackson Five and Stevie Wonder.

While traveling with the Temptations, Grant covered the four corners of the globe highlighted by an appearance at The White House and an engagement in London for an audience with the Archbishop of Canterbury. In 1983 he began writing for the Hollywood Reporter and contributed extensively to BRE Magazine as a columnist. He received the “Living Legends” award from the Los Angeles Black Music Organization in September 2002. On his birthday in 2003 Grant received a citation from the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles for his accomplishments and outstanding contributions to the field of music. Recently he received a certificate of appreciation from the City of Los Angeles for accomplishments which have helped to further the common goal of making the city a better place in which to live.

Grant is presently co-producer and co-host of the CORNELIUS GRANT’S FLASHBACKS AND NEW TRAKS (CGFNT) internet radio show featuring interviews, entertainment news, oldies music, and many interesting points of view.

A weekly comedy show called “Do You Think You’re Funny” (DYTYF) produced by Grant is celebrating it’s second year at Barbara Morrison’s Performing Arts Center.

In addition, in 2012 he presented the 2nd. Annual Skoole Awards to salute the old school pioneers and entrepreneurs whose life’s work has made a difference in the entertainment lives of our nation and the rest of the world.

THE UNDERGROUND EXPERIENCE Presents The Power Of Black Music & Culture Sessions” Series # 9

Featuring MR. BOBBY HUTTON!

The Long Career Of BOBBY HUTTON The Singer, Night Club Performer.

BOBBY HUTTON a graduate of Booker T. Washington in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the same high school where Charlie Wilson & The Gap Band, Wyman Tisdale, RW Mc Quarters, X Chicago Bears & DR.JULIA HARE BLACK THE THINK TANK.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uCJfVgv-u4&feature=share&list=UUf1Zz2aRLe6f7AW-Vwi5ang

He sings Smooth R&B, Jazz and Contemporary Pop. He also appreciates Opera, Country & Blues.Bobby Hutton began singing at the age of 5. His Professional Career began In Detroit, Michiganafter winning a talent show at The 20 Grand Club and was then invited to Motown.

While at Motown, he had a chance to learn quite a bit about writing songs and what they look for in songs. Believing the ideal a [hook] in a song actually started there. Bobby then known as Harold, became a part of the Motown Family. Who was there at the time? Marv Johnson, Marvin Gaye, Mary Wells, Smokeyand all the Miracles, Diana Ross and The Supremes, of course, just The Supremes. At that time, there were four of them & The Temptations. Bobby was even there when Lil Stevie Wonder auditioned singing a Jackie Wilson song. His reason for leaving Motown is a story and he’ll hold those things back a bit longer.

While in DetroitBobby was hanging out at the home of Billy Davis. Billy and Berry Gordy use to write songs together for Jackie Wilson. Living in Billy’s house was David RuffinDavid and Bobby developed a friendship and practiced singing different vocal runs. David was with The Temptations.

Bobby moved on to Chicago and signed with Chess Records, never getting a release from Motown. While at Chess, he was hired to sing with Fontella Bass, replacing Bobby McClure becoming Fontella Bass & Bobby Hutton hence the name Bobby. Their first appearance was at The World Famous Apollo Theater in New York City. He then signed with Philips Records recording songs like [Come See What’s Left Of Me] [More Today Than Yesterday] [I Can’t Stand A Woman Two Timing Her Man] [Your My Whole Reason] written by Donny Hathaway. This was Bobby’s debut song on the very first nation wide [Soul Train Show].

Over thirty years ago, along with Gladys Knight & The Pips, Eddie Kendricks and The Honey Cones, Bobby signed with ABC Dunhill where he recorded Northern Soul Athem[Lend A Hand]. Bobby Hutton is very well known for his Northern Soul, especially in the northern part of EnglandBobby Hutton still makes his living just singing today. Go to [BobbyHutton UK] for more information on BH.

Bobby’s concept on this CD is to show the Jazz influence that has kept him in the Music Business. The ability to sing Jazz, and Classic Standards, as well as R&B, has sustained his longevity. All those years, singing without a record deal in Hotels, Clubs, Casinos, and private functions have kept him very busy. After learning a whole lot of songs he had to sing except his own, that drove him back to recording. He has an arsenal of unreleased songs he recorded back in the 80’s.

He’s been signed to Motown to Chess to Phillips, to ABC Dunhill and now producing himself. Bobby feels the R&B Market has been huge for him realizing, steppers music considered to be grown folks music is R&B, without Jazz, R&B, Contemporary, etc., he would not be complete as an Artist. The best is yet to come.

Since the release of this CD, Bobby Hutton’s career has taken off again .[Twenty Years Later] has gotten him nominated as Best Male Singer 2007 in the city of Chicago by The Chicago Music Awards.Twenty Years Later has become a Steppers Classic in a very short time, respected as a work of art something Bobby is very proud of .The top played songs on the CD are Twenty Years Later, Make It Easy On Yourself, Saving All My Love, Just The Way You Are……All Bobby’s arrangement .

Featuring  Ms. JARA EVERETT!

Musical Artists: Jara Everett, Michael Jackson, B-Rock & The Bizz, R. Kelly, Karyn White, Queen Latifah, Lonnie Gordon & Grace Jones!

JARA EVERETT

Born in Belzoni, Mississippi and growing up in Chicago…. Jara Everett was destined for greatness!

At the tender age of eight, Jara was writing, acting and studying voice. In 1994, she joined “S.T.O.P.”, a female singing group from Chicago signed to Columbia Records. In 1995, she entered the Miss Illinois Pageant where she was crowned Chicago’s Most Beautiful Girl.

Jara continued to define and study her talents as a dancer, singer, rapper, actress which in turn, landed her a role in Shelley Garrett Productions’ theatrical stage play, “Beauty Shop 2”. This wonderful opportunity gave Jara a chance to perfect her acting and dancing skills on this 23 state tour across the United States. While touring, Jara decided to pursue acting in film and as a result was cast in various acting roles including “Ladies of Englewood”, an independent film produced by Kim King and David Lee as well as other independent films.

In 2005, Jara found herself in the rap game after meeting Shawty Redd and 404 Soldiers. As a result, Jara rapped on various albums including being featured with 404 Soldiers “We Some Riderz” 2005; “White Tee’s Female Remake” with platinum producer Shawty Redd” 2006; “Trick Trick” feat. Nate the Great 2006; “Get Off Me” feat. Shawty Redd 2006; and featured on “Burning Up” by Young Jeezy 2006. In addition, Jara sang background for Trillville “Do it Then” 2007.

TODAY… Jara Everett continues to rise, shine, empower and pursue her goals through her own production and brand Jara Everett, LLC. The first project; writing and self-publishing her autobiography “Jump Off” 2012.

Yes, it is Jara’s destiny to be GREAT! The next stop with a Giant Step is the Grammy’s and Academy Awards….

ARE YOU READY TO laugh, be surprised, be empowered, to self-examine, to grow, to CHANGE YOUR LIFE?“

I” wrote this book for other women to learn about themselves through my stories,” states Jara, “so many women are “jump off’s” whether intentional or not; but now they can see themselves where they are right now and take control over where they are going!”

“Jump Off” the book is self-published by Jara Everett, LLC; the true stories of Jara Everett’s real personal and at times explicit experiences with some of entertainments’ who’s who such as Tupac, Suge Knight, R. Kelly, Shawty Redd, Young Jeezy, Martin Lawrence, Shaq, Gary Busey and others.

Written with humor, honesty and from a point of self-reflection, Jara Everett answers the question, “What is a jumpoff?”

Available on Amazon.com and Kindle, readers will laugh, be shocked, gain a clearer insight of powerful men in the entertainment industry and more importantly, will reflect on themselves to answer, “Am I a jump off?”

WATCH THE COMMERCIAL FOR “JUMP OFF” THE SONG & THE BOOK!!!!http://youtu.be/UT_rPYeeors

For the first time in history… an author not only published a book, but wrote and produced a song for national distribution simultaneously! Jara Everett produced and raps on “Jump Off” the song, through a joint venture with R.W Productions featuring up and coming rapper Kasino Way and mixed by music heavyweight Tom Cat Bennett.

“Jump Off” the song is the “theme anthem” for “Jump Off” the book.

Available through ITunes, “Jump Off” the song pulls text from the book, turns them into lyrical rap, adds a deep dramatic rhythmic beat produced by MMI/Street Blaze Productions and will have the club scene jumping to their feet dancing and screaming “She’s a jump off, he’s a jump off, everybody in the club is a jump off!”
