The Underground Experience Presents Author/Activist Michele L. Waters!

Join us as we discuss Life, Liberty and The Pursuit Of Equality & Justice…..

Michele L. Waters

Born and raised in Southern California, National Indie Excellence Awards (NIEA) Finalist Michele L. Waters exemplifies the true meaning of the words success and diligent, which she has so effortlessly been able to project through her hit novels Through the Eyes of My Mulatto Daughter and Can’t Let Go.

Alumni of Long Beach City College where she received an A.A. in Radiology and University of La Verne where she earned her B.A. in Business Administration, Waters has had more than 10 years as an entrepreneur and more than 20 years in the healthcare industry working with renown medical facilities Cedars Sinai Hospital and Kaiser. With her husband by her side, they founded H&W Adult Residential Homes where they provided two nurturing homes for developmentally challenged adults for 10 years.

Aside from the homes, the dynamic duo founded Dream Makers Unlimited, Inc., a real estate investment company where they currently have an inventory of 10 investment properties. Besides her duties as a wife, mother, working full time and managing two companies, Waters escaped the tiresome, but rewarding lifestyle through writing and as a result authored her first novel Can’t Let Go in 2009 and followed with Through the Eyes of My Mulatto Daughter in 2010. Named a finalist of the INDIE Awards, Waters has also grasped the attention of Towson University where her second novel is utilized by the prestigious Dr. Walter Gill for his diversity class.

Misdiagnosed with MS in 2000, and after spending the first couple of years upset, depressed and living in fear with the thought of having this disease that she did not have, Waters felt that this was God’s way of motivating her to view and live life with a whole new perspective. Her personal story is one of courage, patience and faith that aided her to a path of self-determination, self-motivation and strong will. Her writing style is simple, sophisticated; yet full of suspense.

With Can’t Let Go and Through the Eyes of My Mulatto Daughter, Waters has proven to begin a successful track record to challenge the likes of her colleagues within the literary world. Waters states that by “God’s grace and support of family and friends, she is relentlessly inspired to never put off or not attempt to try to accomplish something based on fear.”

“…I poured all of my heart and strength into protecting you from the venomous hatred spewed out from communities when you disappointed them, time and time again. I tried to help you manage your stress, and made sure you had adequate legal representation for the aftermath when you couldn’t. I stood up for you when no one else, genuinely, would…” Excerpt from Broken Spirits: A Letter To My Cousin Rodney G. King

CHARLES LOCKE

Charles Locke began playing piano at the age of 12, the guitar at 14 and before graduating high school in Boston he had already written over 300 songs. And now, more than 4000 original songs later, he is still writing everyday as effortlessly as breathing. He has also written 4 books and for the last 3 years he has been writing celebrity stories every month for a magazine sold in New England and New York City.

He has played guitar and sang with Jesse Ed Davis (who played on some of John Lennon’s solo albums), Tom Petty, Paul Simon, Gene Clark from the Byrds, Spencer Davis, Buddy Miles; he sang “We are the World” on the stage with Michael Jackson live on TV at the Grammy’s and he has worked with everyone from Brittany Spears, Mariah Carey and Johnny Cash to Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones.

Words of wisdom. If you’re in school and they ask you to prove the law of gravity, throw the teacher out the window ((*o^)) !!! Have a great day! (unless you made other plans) … Sincerely … Charles Locke

CHRIS VALENTI

If you‘ve ever been frustrated by a relationship and you have a distorted, but healthy sense of humor, then Chris Valenti is the comic for you. Chris tells jokes and performs songs that ring painfully and hilariously true to anyone who has ever attempted dating.

On his new musical comedy album, LIVE EMOTIONAL WRECKAGE, released by New Wave Dynamics, Valenti shares stories of struggles, blunders, and missed opportunities we all endure. His songs tackle politics – “I Want To Be Your Intern, Female President Clinton”, technology – “Please Don’t Text Someone While I’m Making Love To You”, and he even festively released a upbeat single for Christmas for the lonely entitled “Single For Christmas.“ His live show is part music, part comedy, part therapy, and part romance as well as action, adventure, mystery and sometimes horror. A philosopher of love usually, the kind of love that did not exactly make it to that ‘happily ever after‘ place.

A hopeful romantic with a wry sense of humor, Chris has the knack for using self-deprecation and vulnerability to weave stories about the hazards and frustrations of love and attempted relationships. He‘s become the cheerful motivator for the unlucky in love, because the best cure for a broken heart is laughing at someone else‘s.

Chris is also an actor and filmmaker. Remember the Da Da Da – Sunday Afternoon Volkswagen commercial? Well that was Chris Valenti driving. He also appeared in the feature film “17 Again,“ and has written, produced, and starred in two feature films, including multi-festival award winner, “Sensitive Johnson,“ a romantic comedy about a tenderhearted musician with a premature ejaculation problem. Chris has made dozens of award winning short films for FunnyOrDie.com.

Musical Artists Include: Charles Locke, Chris Valenti & Nsikan
